Shame on You Larry King…..

I have not had the energy to write in my blog…but something recently has sparked a fire that must be released….

Last night famed documentary creator Michael Moore was scheduled to appear on Larry King Live to speak on his new film SICKO. I have seen this film and in true Michael Moore fashion it is brilliant…as always he does go to the extreme in his bias but the facts are the facts. Why was Michael Moore bumped from the show to another night…because Paris Hilton had agreed to give her very first post-jail interview to Larry King…..

Paris Hilton…sex video, simple life, air headed, “that’s hot”, dui….Paris Hilton?

Who are we kidding when we exalt this status of her’s by bumping Michael Moore from his interview. Do that many American’s really care about how tragic and depressing it was for Paris Hilton to live for 20 days without her spa, and room service, and hair extensions? Do you remember Michael Moore? He was the one who challenges people to think differently…in Bowling for Columbine he challenged us to think about gun control…in Farenheit 911 he blatantly shifted the minds of thousands on that tragic day…this is Michael Moore…the man who invites us all to think that it is possible that how things appear through the media are not truly so. You may not agree with everything he says or that he stands for…but please acknowledge that he invites people to think outside the box……

And so we see what truly appeals to the media….Michael Moore was bumped from Larry King Live…and replaced with Paris Hilton… apparently is much more important to know about her cell with a bunkbed and a sink attached to the wall then to hear about the millions of peopel being SCAMMED by thier INSURANCE companies…..being turned down for services they need to live….paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in hospital bills because the HMO’s were able to find a loop hole in their application….babies are dying….people are being denied cancer treatments….losing their homes to medical bills….and yet….

We chose to uplift Paris Hilton……someone who could afford to pay for all those things if she needed them….

I have seen SICKO and it is intuitive and miraculous….

Larry King you chose most unwisely.

Been Taking A Break…..

I have been taking a blogging break. I will be back to my old blogging self in no time. I have gone through a week of general unwellness all around. I am working with my doctor to see what is going on with my body. I have been seriously lacking in the energy department and thus my rational thoughts have been eluding me.

Be not afraid…

I will be back.

Party Planning…..

Some people haven’t RSVP’d for Jacob’s birthday party this weekend. I was contemplating calling them up to see what their plans were – if they were attending or not but I’ve done all the research I can and from what I read its bad ettiquette to call people up and ask “are you coming?” so I’m going to assume that the people are not coming and if they show up it’s like a bonus I guess. I wouldn’t call people for a party for myself so I assume I shouldn’t call people for a party for my son.

RSVP’s have trickled in over the past couple days…one from my aunt who stated she mean’t to call earlier but forgot and one from my friend’s mother who understandibly has been busy moving into a new house – she can be forgiven. I think maybe there’s 10-14 people whom we haven’t heard from….so it’s not all that bad – and the truth is I’m more disappointed that we haven’t heard from them because it means they migh not be there and I’m excited to see everyone again and celebrate Jacob’s birthday…..I could care less about the’s not about wanting more people to come to get more presents…Jacob has enough “stuff”..everything any infant his age could ever need. I just wanna see people and have a good time!

I think it will be a good time for all…..about 30 people….and about 10 kids….I think…..unless the people who haven’t RSVP’d show up……

Just 3 more days till Party Day!

Jacob Be Little…..

I heard these lyrics to a song by Lonestar the other day…and I found them fitting as Jacob’s first birthday approaches this Saturday.

Let Them Be Little

I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand
Felt so good in it, no bigger than a minute

How it amazes me, you’re changing with every blink
Faster than a flower blooms they grow up all too soon

So let them be little ’cause they’re only that way for a while
Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day

Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle
Oh just let them be little

I’ve never felt so much in one little tender touch
I live for those kisses, prayers and your wishes

Now that you’re teaching me things only a child can see
Every night while we’re on our knees all I ask is please

Let them be little ’cause they’re only that way for a while

Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day

Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle
Oh just let them be little

So innocent, a precious soul, you turn around
It’s time to let them go

So let them be little ’cause they’re only that way for a while
Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day

Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle
Oh just let them be little

Let them be little

Tooth number 4 arrived today….finally breaking through the surface like a baby chick hatches from the egg. I was impressed that Jacob was not incredibly fussing during the birth of the new pearly white…..I fear he actually went through the most pain and discomfort yesterday when my brother was watching him – apparently Jacob was not happy most of the time we were gone…it wasn’t very long just an hour and a half….

I know the news isn’ t fascinating to most of you readers…but I also use this blog to remember things – cus since I had a baby my memory ain’t worth anything.

Welcome to the world #4……Enjoy your youth while you can…I am sure #5 is right behind you.

Some Mommy Reading…

I’m trying to find 30 minutes each day to read. I’ve always loved to read but since having Jacob I just haven’t been able to find the time. This is most likely because I no longer have the 45 minute commute each way to work. So I’ve started reading two books recently….both of them ironically having something to do with motherhood. Both of them are interesting but serve different purposes…both of them are sarcastic, witty, and funny.

If you have a chance to pick them up…do so. The first is called…I Was a Really Good Mom Before I Had Kids by Trisha Ashworth and Amy Nobile and the second is called Wiped! Life With A Pint Size Dictator….which is ironic considering the title of my blog. I can’t remember the author of this one of the top of my head but when I’m near the book…I’ll update the blog then.

If anyone else out there …enjoys reading and has any suggestions on good captivating books….fill me in! I’m always looking for my next escape.
