Mama Melissa
I’ve only just entered the world of womanhood in the thirties but so far its been a rocking good time. I’m a total fly by the seat of your pants, learn from your mistakes, make it up as you go along type of parent. I love being a mom more then I’ve ever loved anything else ever (well except maybe chocolate)and I hope that you’ll join me for my journey by keeping up with my mommyhood as shared here on my blog.
Through this blog you’ll meet my children – Jacob (The Dictator) and Violet (The Diva) who are 3 and a few months old respectively. My children are the inspiration and motivation behind this blog and most importantly they are a huge part of the plot in the story of my life. Of course, my children would not be who they are without dear old Daddy oe better known on tihs blog as That Daddy Guy – He is my strength on difficult days and my partner in life for always – the co-creator (so to speak) of The Diva and The Dictator….together we are something pretty awesome – the majestic six letter word that’s packed full of punch – FAMILY.
I am a Child and Youth Counselor by profession and aside from the dedication to my own family I do my best to help teenagers and their families find hope during difficult times. Currently, I am on maternity leave but much of my blog is devoted to my life as a Work out of the Home Mommy and the trials and tribulations that go hand in hand with that. I am a lover of many things including scrap booking (the paper kind not the fancy digital kind), music theater, a good movie, a great book and occasionally I shamefully indulge in some reality TV – the good kind if that’s even a possible explanation!
I am who I am – a simple take me as I am thirty year old gal living in Toronto and doing my best to “get it right” and make some sort of positive impact on the lives of my children…..I’m just here in the cyber world sharing our life for the better good of nobody except ourselves and hoping that maybe….just maybe someone else in the world is having similar experiences….
I’ve got no parenting books – we tossed those out long ago.
